Welcome to ShoreDog!

Shoreline Dog Off-leash Group (ShoreDog) is a non-profit volunteer stewardship group that is dedicated to establishing and supporting neighborhood dog off-leash areas within the City of Shoreline where well behaved canine citizens can exercise, play and socialize with other dogs and their people in a clean, safe environment.

We currently have two off-leash areas in Shoreline, Shoreview Off-Leash Park which is a traditional fenced park and Richmond Beach Saltwater Park which is unfenced and open from Nov. 1 - March 15. (History)

April is Pet License Amnesty Month

Harboring a Fugitive?

During this special event, pet owners can bring their expired pet licenses up to date or purchase new tags for currently unlicensed pets without facing late fees or penalties.

Visit King County Licensing to purchase or renew your pet license online.

  • Only licensed pets are allowed in Shoreline Off-Leash Areas.
  • Found pets are reunited quickly with their owner. The Pet License office number is on the license. If someone finds your pet, they will call the number, get your contact information, even after hours, and reunite you and your pet.
  • Your pet gets a free ride home the first time it is found. County staff will attempt to deliver your pet home to you immediately, skipping a trip to the animal shelter.
  • Your pet gets a longer care period. When found, your licensed pet will be safely cared for at the Pet Adoption Center for a longer time.
  • You and your pet get the Vacation Pet Alert. When you leave home on vacation, call 206-296-2712 to register where your pet will be while you are on vacation, who will be taking care of your pet and where to reach you. We will call the correct number if your pet gets loose during your vacation.
  • License fees support the return of hundreds of lost pets to their homes and help adopt thousands of homeless pets to new families every year. Pet license fees also fund investigation of animal neglect or cruelty, spay/neuter programs to reduce pet over-population, and community education services.

East Shoreline Off-Leash Committee

It is ShoreDog's goal to continue to create off-leash areas in our neighborhoods. Now that we have two sites under our belts (Shoreview and Richmond Beach), it's time to start the ball rolling investigating sites on the east side of Shoreline (east of Aurora). From past experience, this will be a longer-term project and will include activities such as: site evaluation, working with City Staff and Parks Board members, and making presentations to neighborhood associations and to the Parks Board.

If you are enthusiastic about an eastside off-leash area and would like to commit to this project, please send us an email telling us a little bit about yourself and how you could contribute to this effort.
